Your safety is our priority. Before chasing a personal record on a leaderboard, please take a moment to read the recommendations below. They apply to every run and to every challenge offered by Les segments.
No leaderboard position is worth putting your life or someone else's at risk. Always comply with traffic rules, signage and the other users of the road or trail.
1. Before the run
A segment attempt is, above all, an intense effort. Warm up properly, do not push if you are sick or injured and adjust your target to your current fitness level.
- If you are getting back into sport or have any medical doubt, consult a healthcare professional before joining a challenge.
- Plan 10 to 15 minutes of progressive warm-up before a maximal effort.
- Stretch, hydrate and fuel properly before and after.
2. Run conditions
Terrain and weather can turn a familiar segment into a risky course. A few simple habits:
- Check the weather. Postpone in case of thunderstorms, ice, snow or extreme heat.
- Prefer well-lit and busy areas after dark.
- Stay alert to traffic, especially in urban areas where the segment crosses a road.
- Never trespass on private property or restricted paths to gain time.
3. GPS and privacy
Your Strava activities contain sensitive information (starting point, workplace, typical training spot). To protect your privacy:
- Configure privacy zones in Strava to mask your home, workplace or any other sensitive place.
- Carefully choose the default visibility of your activities ("Everyone", "Followers" or "Only You") in your Strava settings.
- Do not share your real-time location with strangers, even in the context of a challenge.
4. Fair play and segment integrity
The leaderboards on Les segments rely on trust. You agree to:
- only submit running efforts for a running challenge;
- not tamper with your data (pause removal, artificial mileage, shortcuts, motorized device);
- respect any other athletes who are on the segment at the same time;
- not attempt a record in obviously dangerous conditions (slippery road, crowded sidewalks, unsafe crossings).
5. Gear and hydration
- Wear clothing adapted to the weather and to visibility (reflective gear at night).
- Choose shoes in good condition and suited to the terrain.
- Bring water for long runs or hot weather.
- Keep your phone charged and reachable, with an emergency contact easily accessible.
6. Reporting an issue
If you notice inappropriate behavior, a suspicious account or an obviously unrealistic performance, use the "Report" button available in the App. Our team reviews every report and may suspend the relevant performances or accounts during the verification process.
For any urgent question, you can also reach us at contact@mioza.app.
7. Account deletion
To delete your account, sign in to the App, open the Settings > My account tab and select Delete my account. Remember to also revoke Les segments' access from your Strava app settings .
8. In case of emergency
If you are in immediate danger during or after a run, contact emergency services:
- 112 - European emergency number (Police / Ambulance / Fire department)
- 15 - SAMU (medical emergency, France)
- 17 - Police / Gendarmerie (France)
- 18 - Fire department (France)
- 114 - Emergency text number for deaf and hard-of-hearing people (France)
Your vigilance is essential for the safety of the whole community. By following these recommendations, you help make every Les segments challenge as safe as it is motivating.
