These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the Les segments mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read these Terms and accept them without reservation. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of the Terms
Using the App implies full acceptance of these Terms, as well as of the Privacy Policy and the End User License Agreement.
2. Minimum age
The App is open to users aged 13 or older, consistent with Strava's terms of service. Users under 18 must obtain the consent of a holder of parental authority. We reserve the right to suspend any account where the user is suspected of being below this age limit.
3. User account
- One account: only one account is allowed per person. Holding multiple accounts may result in the deletion of all related accounts without prior notice.
- Accurate information: you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account.
- Confidentiality: you are responsible for any activity performed through your account. Never share your Strava password or login credentials, regardless of the request.
4. Connecting to Strava
The App relies on Strava's official API and requires you to authorize the OAuth connection. You agree to comply with Strava's terms of service , in particular those related to the honest recording of activities. You can revoke the authorization at any time from your Strava app settings .
5. Fair play and segment integrity
The spirit of the App relies on honest leaderboards. In particular, you agree to:
- not use any motorized means (bike, scooter, car) or assistive device during an effort submitted to a running challenge;
- not tamper with your GPS data, your times or your activity type (every activity must be tagged correctly, for example "Run" for a running challenge);
- not crop, duplicate or edit an activity for the sole purpose of artificially optimizing a time on a segment;
- comply with road traffic rules and respect other users (pedestrians, cyclists, drivers) when running through a segment.
Any behavior amounting to cheating may result in the disqualification of the current challenge, the invalidation of the performance and, in case of repeated offense, the deletion of the account.
6. Code of conduct
By using the App, you agree to:
- respect the privacy of other athletes;
- not post defamatory, insulting, racist, discriminatory or threatening content;
- not impersonate any third party;
- not use the App for commercial purposes without prior authorization;
- report any abusive behavior via the tools provided in the App.
7. Challenges, leaderboards and prizes
Les segments is built around time-limited challenges on specific segments. Unless stated otherwise:
- only performances completed within the announced time window are taken into account;
- only running efforts recorded as such on Strava are valid for a running challenge;
- leaderboards may be updated or corrected in case of error, obviously unrealistic data or valid report;
- any prizes are awarded by the organizer of the challenge. Collection modalities are clarified on a case-by-case basis in the App. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
8. Data protection
The processing of your personal data is detailed in our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to this processing in accordance with the GDPR.
9. Intellectual property
All content within the App (texts, visuals, code, logos) is protected by intellectual property laws. Any unauthorized reproduction is prohibited. The Strava brand and its visual elements remain the exclusive property of Strava, Inc.
By posting content (photo, comment, username) within the App, you grant Les segments a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use it for the operation of the service and the promotion of leaderboards, challenge results and the community.
10. Limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is". While we strive to operate it reliably, we cannot guarantee it will be free of errors, interruptions or bugs.
Running carries inherent risks (falls, injuries, road accidents, fainting). You run under your sole responsibility, you are the sole judge of your fitness level and you must comply with traffic rules and signage. Les segments cannot be held liable for any bodily or material damage incurred during a challenge run.
11. Changes to the Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updates take effect once published in the App. It is your responsibility to review them regularly.
12. Termination
We may suspend or delete your account in case of breach of these Terms, in particular of the fair play rules. You can also delete your account at any time from the Settings > My account screen.
13. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
